Class News and Date for Term 2 Class Meeting
Welcome back to Term 2. I hope you all had a lovely holiday and continue to enjoy the long weekends for the next two weeks!
Cindy tells me that the children were wonderfully excited to be back and to connect with each other again. She has begun with vowels, will finish the consonants and start adding and subtracting as main lessons this term.
In order for work to be well underway, and so that she can fill us in with more detail on how the children are progressing Cindy has decided to leave this term’s parent meeting until well into the term. We are proposing a date of Monday June 5th.
We would like feedback as to whether people would prefer a 4.30 or 6.00 p.m. start. The meeting will last approximately one and a half hours. Please either call me on 783 3825 or tell Cindy which is your preferential start time and we will announce the vote closer to the date of the meeting.
In the meantime, if you have not already had your one-one meeting with Cindy she is still available on Wednesday lunchtimes. Please contact her directly to schedule for her to come to you for a visit.
Cindy will be buying the children recorders. This will cost R50.00 per recorder. Please contact her in the next 24 hours if your child already has a good quality recorder and does not need one. Otherwise please get the R50.00 to Cindy as soon as possible, preferably this week.
Due to the Kindergarten fundraiser, The Zip Zap Circus, taking place this term we have decided to postpone our class fundraising event (The Jungle Theatre performing Skazi Love) to the start of Term 3. The proposed date is July 29th.
I will need a team of people (in addition to Alexandra and Shirley who are already helping) to volunteer to help with organizing the event, and every parent will be involved in selling tickets and in helping out on the day. Please call me on 783 3825 if you are willing to take up a role in getting ready for the event outside of ticket selling. I will give the whole parent body an update at the class meeting.
Finally, if you have not already paid your levies for this term, please do so as soon as possible. Obviously the same goes for this month’s or term’s fees!
