Class 5 went on an outing to Table Mountain on Friday 13 October and learnt that it is older than the Himalayas! Also, that the Khoisan named Table Mountain ‘Hoerikwaggo’ (Mountain of the sea) long ago.
Very soon after our ride to the top with the cable car, three dassies and a Rock Agama came to say hello. We could see all the way to the Slangkop lighthouse from the top! The guide pointed out interesting plants and helped the group to consider what to do if a venomous snake would spit in someone’s eye.
It was over too soon, but the beautiful views will stay with all of us till the next time we are privileged to visit beautiful Table Mountain again.
