The year has started off full of energy and very vibrant in the Primary School Aftercare. There has been so much laughter and fun and it is just the beginning. It has been so lovely to have the children back in aftercare, to see their smiling faces and to hear all their stories about the holidays and how school is going for them thus far. We have all been enjoying getting to know the new Class 1s that have joined our aftercare group this year bringing new bonds of friendship between all the children.
A typical day in the Primary School Aftercare consists of free play time outside altogether and having a lovely light lunch where we all sit together in a circle, share food and stories about our day or weekend. After lunch the children enjoy some more outside time before coming inside to either listen to a story, do a craft, do a free drawing, colour in or play some inside games which include board games. Some days we all decide that we would like to spend the day outside and so regular trips to the big swing are always something to look forward to as well as some outside games which Jule and I take part in.
We celebrated Valentine’s Day in the aftercare by baking and beautifully decorating scrumptiously yummy Valentine’s Day cookies which were then given to the children’s loved ones. The children thoroughly enjoyed the decorating of the cookies, taking care to make each one as special as they could.
Jule and I are so happy and excited to be part of Aftercare again this year and we are looking forward to all the fun times and laughter that will definitely be filling the air throughout the year.
